Raydium is one of the longest-running AMMs on Solana, offering both standard constant-product pools and concentrated-liquidity (CLMM) pools for liquidity providers who want more capital efficiency in exchange for more active management. CLMM pools let liquidity providers focus capital within a specific price range rather than spreading it across the entire curve.

What it’s for

Raydium is used both for direct swaps and as a liquidity venue that aggregators like Jupiter route through. If you’re providing liquidity rather than just swapping, Raydium’s CLMM pools let you earn a larger share of trading fees on the capital you deploy — but your position stops earning fees the moment price moves outside your chosen range.

Fees

Swap fees are set per pool and vary by pool type (standard vs. CLMM) and fee tier; check the specific pool in the app for its current rate rather than assuming a single site-wide number. Liquidity providers earn a share of those swap fees proportional to their share of active liquidity in range.

Pros and cons

  • Pro: one of the deepest, most established liquidity sources on Solana — a default routing target for aggregators.
  • Pro: CLMM pools give active LPs meaningfully better capital efficiency than a standard constant-product pool.
  • Con: CLMM positions require active range management; a passive “set and forget” CLMM position can silently stop earning fees.
  • Con: standard AMM impermanent-loss and smart-contract risk apply to every pool.

Track record

Raydium has operated since the early days of Solana DeFi and has been through multiple full market cycles, including periods of extreme volatility and network stress. It’s a standard building block in the Solana DeFi stack and one of the primary sources of on-chain liquidity that other apps depend on.

Risk considerations

Standard AMM risks apply: smart contract risk, and impermanent loss if you’re providing liquidity (see our impermanent loss guide). Concentrated liquidity positions carry more active-management risk than standard pools — a position can go fully out of range and stop earning fees while still being exposed to the underlying price movement. As always, verify contract addresses and use official links rather than search results when connecting a wallet.
